BEL AIR, MD — Zach Griffin, one of two teens involved in a crash last month involving a school bus, has been released from the hospital, according to a GoFundMe page organized for his family.

Griffin, 17, was critically injured in the Sept. 18 crash on Route 543 that happened around 2 p.m. He was in a car with 16-year-old Blake Elliott, who was killed in the crash. Griffin was waiting to turn left at MD Route 543 and Crescent Knoll Drive. They were rear-ended by a 39-year-old man and pushed into oncoming traffic where they were hit by a Harford County Public School bus heading southbound on Route 543, Patch reported previously. Half a dozen students on the school bus also sustained minor injuries, according to the sheriff's office.

According to the GoFundMe, Griffin went home Sept. 29 after “a very comprehensive evaluation, and the staff determined his best place for recovery was at home. He will be evaluated next week for outpatient rehabilitation.”
