Bel Air High Performs 'Titanic' on Historic Days

The Bel Air High School Drama Company will commemorate the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic by presenting "Titanic, the Musical" April 12, 13 and 14.

's Drama Company will mark the 100th anniversary of the sinking of Titanic with the performance of "Titanic, the Musical."

The first performance takes place tonight (Thursday) at 7 p.m. with subsequent performances at 7 p.m. Friday, and at 1 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. Saturday.

The final performance is timed so that, in the performance, the ship hits the iceberg at 9:40 p.m. (11:40 p.m. ship time)—the exact time it crashed 100 years ago—according to a release from the school.

The Titanic hit the iceberg on April 14 and sank on April 15, 1912.

"This is going to be a spectacular musical with a cast and crew of 90 students who will tell the stories of courage, cowardliness, greed, love, and hope in a truthful and vibrant manner," wrote Bel Air High staff member Kelly Nelson in an email to Patch.

Tickets are $12 and can be purchased at the Bel Air High School box office starting one hour before each performance.
