Weapons Firing, Light Flashes May Be Noticeable This Week: APG
Aberdeen Proving Ground will be conducting testing that may produce sounds and sights noticeable in the surrounding communities.
ABERDEEN PROVING GROUND, MD — Daytime and nighttime testing at Aberdeen Proving Ground this week may be noticeable to the surrounding community, officials from the military post advised Monday.
Weapons may fire, and flashes of light are possible from Monday, Nov. 29, to Friday, Dec. 3, according to officials with Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG).
Noise may be heard off the installation, and staff at APG said they will monitor the noise and weather readings continuously.

"These operations are not hazardous to residents in our surrounding communities and are integral to ensuring continued readiness of service members," officials say.
Research engineers, scientists, technicians and administrators develop military weapons, electronics and equipment at the base.

The firing will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 5 a.m. Monday to Friday.
