Wine World Sells $50,000 Powerball Ticket
A Powerball ticket sold in Abingdon is one of several unclaimed Powerball prizes of at least $50,000 from the last month, officials say.

ABINGDON, MD — A liquor store in Abingdon sold a $50,000 Powerball ticket recently that lottery officials say has yet to be claimed.
Wine World sold the winning ticket for the Dec. 27 Powerball drawing.
The numbers to match were 36, 38, 45, 62 and 64, while the Powerball was 19.

It is not the first time Wine World has sold a major Powerball winner. In 2011, an Abingdon couple won the $108.8 million Powerball jackpot after buying their ticket there.
Winners have 182 days from the drawing date to claim their prizes. Maryland Lottery officials advise people to sign the backs of their tickets and put them in a safe place.

Prizes greater than $25,000 must be claimed by mail or at the Maryland Lottery headquarters in the Montgomery Park Business Center, 1800 Washington Blvd., Suite 330, Baltimore, MD 21230. To visit, people must make an appointment at the lottery headquarters.
The ticket sold in Abingdon is one of 12 substantial Powerball prizes that have yet to be claimed from drawings in the past three months, according to the Maryland Lottery:
- $2 million winner — Sold Dec. 30 at Sam’s Lobby Shop, 10 North Calvert Street, Baltimore
- $1 million winner — Sold Dec. 20 at New Hampshire Sunoco, 6360 New Hampshire Avenue, Takoma Park
- $150,000 winner — Sold Oct. 27 at Rockville Service Center, 1900 Rockville Pike, Rockville
- $50,000 winner — Sold Jan. 5 at Westlake Wine & Beer, 10442 Auto Park Avenue, Bethesda
- $50,000 winner — Sold Jan. 5 at Crossroads Exxon, 8101 Ritchie Highway, Pasadena
- $50,000 winner — Sold Jan. 1 at Marathon Gas, 201 Hanover Pike, Hampstead
- $50,000 winner — Sold Dec. 27 at Wine World, 406 A Constant Friendship Boulevard, Abingdon
- $50,000 winner — Sold Dec. 25 at 7-Eleven #11550, 7404 Laurel-Bowie Road, Bowie
- $50,000 winner — Sold Dec. 24 at Papa Menu, 4 East Baltimore Street, Baltimore
- $50,000 winner — Sold Dec. 24 at High’s #039, 4046 Ocean Gateway, Trappe
