3 Storms Emerge In Latest Forecast: Here's When, What To Expect In MD

New details, timeline have been released regarding three more storms in Maryland's weather forecast. Here's what you need to know.

MARYLAND — Three storms are forecast for Maryland over the next several days. First, rain arrives late Monday and continues throughout Tuesday, then heaver rain is forecast later Wednesday and into Thursday and then more rain is possible this upcoming weekend.

The three rainstorms could produce more than 2 inches of rain by Sunday, March 10, the Capital Weather Gang reported Monday. With temperatures expected to be mild during these early March storms, forecasters are not calling for any icy conditions at night.

For the first storm, clouds will thicken as a storm system spreads northward into Maryland by Monday night. Rain chances will remain high in early Tuesday morning. Most of the rain should end around lunchtime.

"Overall, up to 1 inch of rainfall is expected near and along the I-95 corridor when it's all said and done. Drier air works into the region on Tuesday afternoon and showers taper off," WMAR's Stevie Daniels reported.

Another storm system approaching from the west will bring rain back into the area Wednesday afternoon into Thursday morning.

"If we’re fortunate, there will be at least some partial sunshine early Wednesday before cloud cover again during the afternoon and more rain moves in," the Capital Weather Gang said. "Highs are again pretty close to 60. Rain is then likely Wednesday night and could be heavy at times, with lows in the 40s."

Another storm system is forecast to reach Maryland by late Friday. Most of Maryland will see rain Friday night and Saturday, with highs in the upper 50s. A chance of showers will extend into Sunday.

Here is a look at the forecast for Maryland for the rest of the week into the weekend, according to the National Weather Service:

Monday night: Rain, mainly after midnight. Low around 50. Northeast wind 8 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph.

Tuesday: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 50. Light south wind.

Tuesday night: Snow likely, mainly before 8 a.m. The snow could be heavy at times. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 38. Northwest wind 7 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph.

Wednesday: Rain, mainly after 1 p.m. High near 59. Calm wind becoming east 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon.

Wednesday night: Rain, mainly before 1am. Low around 54.

Thursday: Partly sunny, with a high near 64.

Thursday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 49.

Friday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 59.

Friday night: A chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 47.

Saturday: Rain. High near 58.

Sunday: A chance of rain. Partly sunny, with a high near 58. Breezy.
