Next Chance Of Snow In Maryland Possible Later This Week
Snowfall in Maryland is expected to total between 1 and 3 inches, with snow starting late Friday evening, according to weather forecasters.
MARYLAND — Meteorologists are tracking a weather system that could kick off the long Presidents Day weekend with accumulating across most of Maryland.
The snow in Maryland is expected to total between 1 and 3 inches, with snow starting late Friday evening. Most of the snow should end by noon on Saturday, according to forecasters.
The accumulating snow is expected to fall even in Southern Maryland, not just the central and western portions of the state. The forecast for snow Friday night follows measurable snow in some areas of Maryland on Tuesday.

Friday will begin with temperatures reaching 48 degrees. Most of the snow will fall in central Maryland between 10 p.m. on Friday and 4 a.m. on Saturday, the National Weather Service said.
AccuWeather said Baltimore and other Mid-Atlantic areas will receive 1 to 3 inches of snow, while areas toward the south near Richmond could see mixed precipitation.

"Any sustained period of moderate snow would be enough to cool temperatures to 32 degrees or below and support accumulating snow, especially since the air overhead would be well below freezing," the Capital Weather Gang forecast said. "But if the snow is too light or intermittent, then temperatures could remain a degree or two warmer and limit accumulation potential."
WJZ News said most snow will be over before noon on Saturday. "While this won't be a major storm, it could lead to some slippery travel early Saturday on side and secondary roadways. Melting Saturday afternoon should help rapidly improve travel conditions," WJZ News said.
WBAL-TV meteorologist Tony Pann said he's keeping an eye on the snow coming Friday night as temperatures will be under freezing, so accumulation will be possible on roads.
"It looks like a nice swath of snow is going to come across the Baltimore metro Friday night into early Saturday morning. I think it will be mostly gone by 8 or 9 o'clock in the morning on Saturday," he said.
The clouds are expected to move out, with sunshine making an appearance Saturday afternoon. Conditions on Sunday in Maryland will also be sunny, with high temperatures in the 40s, according to forecasters. On Presidents Day, temperatures are forecast to reach the low-50s, with lots of sunshine.
