Armed Robbery Photos Released From Bethesda Wine Shop Holdup

An armed thief robbed a Bethesda wine and beer shop two nights in a row. Montgomery County Police have released surveillance images.

BETHESDA, MD — Surveillance photos of a teenager suspected of robbing a Bethesda beer and wine store in the 4800 block of Edgemoor Lane at gunpoint two nights in a row were released Friday by Montgomery County Police.

Detectives are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the robber.

On Monday, May 13, at about 7:21 p.m., workers at Geste Beer and Wine reported an armed robbery. According to a police news release, the suspect entered the store with a handgun and stole an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register.

About 6:25 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, the same thief went inside Geste Beer and Wine, again armed with a handgun, and stole cash before leaving through the store's back door, investigators said.

Detectives have released surveillance photos of the suspect.

Police said the suspect is described as a male in his late teens. On May 13 he wore a black jacket with floral patterns on the back, light colored jeans and black shoes. On May 14, he wore a black hooded sweatshirt, dark distressed jeans with rips, black boots and a black face mask.
