NORTH BETHESDA, MD — Montgomery County residents won't have to drive three hours to get to the shore this Memorial Day Weekend.

A sand-covered eating and dining area called The Beach is opening this weekend at Pike & Rose.

The Beach is place to meet for lunch, play games and relax. Guests can drink beach-inspired cocktails, beer and wine at the Beach Bar on the weekends.

Free fitness classes and pop-up parties will also be held at The Beach throughout the summer.

Located next to Rose Park, and the newly opened The Baked Bear, residents will be able to access The Beach from the park.
