How has the new coronavirus impacted your business and its employees?
We are open only for curbside service (Monday to Friday from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.) at this time. All large events have been canceled. Our hearts go to those who had spent months planning weddings, Bar Mitzvahs, etc. We have staff on a rotation and some might work only three days a month. Most of our staff are the sole supporters for their families. These dedicated people have been with us for 23 years. They are family.
How can local customers support you now and in the future?
We have set up a GoFundMe account. See our website for info. A long-time customer has offered to match funds once the account has reached $5,000. Any small donation will help. We are also selling gift cards which are valid indefinitely.
Do you have any words of encouragement for your community?
As horrible as this pandemic has been, we have witnessed people being kind, well-meaning and supportive. It has brought people together. People are helping people they never knew. When business opens again, there will be a renewed appreciation for life and what really matters.
Are you offering any special services, promotions or hours during this time?
Yes. We are offering curbside service Monday to Friday 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Call 301-654-8333 for menu and to order.
Are there any other outstanding businesses in town you think deserve some community support?
All medical, fire and police personnel. They are the true heroes.
