Bethesda, Chevy Chase Crime: Burglaries at Italian Deli, Gas Station, Medical Office, More

Crimes in Bethesda and Chevy Chase included in the county police department's most recent crime summary.

The following information was supplied by the Montgomery County Police Department in its summary of major crimes occurring in the county between Oct. 21 and 29. The mention of an arrest or charge does not indicate a conviction.

Thefts:

  • A theft occurred at Bausum & Duckett (4800 Auburn Ave., Bethesda) between Friday, Oct. 25, and Saturday, Oct. 26. Property was taken. 

Commercial burglaries:

  • A commercial burglary occurred at Vace Italian Deli (4705 Miller Ave., Bethesda) on Saturday, Oct. 26, at about 4:30 a.m. There was a forced entry, and property was taken. 
  • A commercial burglary occurred at The Hatcher Group's offices (4340 East-West Highway, Bethesda) during the night between Thursday and Friday, Oct. 24 and 25. The means of entry is unknown, and property was taken.
  • A commercial burglary occurred at Radio Shack (8125 Wisconsin Ave., Bethesda) on Sunday, Oct. 27, at 9:35 p.m. There was a forced entry; damage was done, but nothing was taken. 
  • A commercial burglary occurred at Citgo (8505 Connecticut Ave., Chevy Chase) on Wednesday, Oct. 13, between midnight and 1 a.m. There was a forced entry, and property was taken. 
  • A commercial burglary occurred at the medical office of Stanley Slater (5530 Wisconsin Ave., Chevy Chase) between Wednesday, Oct. 23, and Friday, Oct. 25. There was a forced entry, but nothing was taken.

Thefts from vehicles:

  • Three thefts from vehicles occurred in the 10800 block of Hampton Mill Terrace in North Bethesda on Sunday, Oct. 27, between 5:30 and 8:30 p.m. Two of the vehicles had been left unlocked, and one was forced open. Loose items inside the vehicles were taken. 
  • A theft from a vehicle occurred in the 4900 block of Cloister Drive in Rockville on Tuesday, Oct. 29, between 12:30 and 8:15 a.m. The vehicle was forced open, and vehicle parts were taken.
