Bethesda Jewelry Store Robbery: Police Arrest 2nd Suspect

Police say they've caught the second of three suspects accused of robbing a jewelry store in December.

BETHESDA, MD — The Montgomery County Police Department has arrested a second suspect in relation to the Dec. 13 armed robbery of the Jewelry Exchange in Bethesda. Anthony Starr, 49, is accused of the heist in which over $60,000 in jewelry was stolen.

Police say on Friday, Dec. 13, around 5:45 p.m., three men walked into the store, one of whom was armed with a handgun. Two demanded jewelry while the other acted as a lookout.

Police say they got away with about 100 pieces of jewelry.

On Dec. 17, police released surveillance footage of the suspects, leading to the arrest of Derrick Graham, 42. Graham had been arrested on Dec. 30 on an unrelated armed robbery charge.

Police say they also identified Starr as another suspect and arrested him on Wednesday, Jan. 8 on a warrant for armed robbery charges. He's in Washington, D.C. pending extradition to Montgomery County.

Police are asking the public's help in identifying the third suspect. Anybody who recognizes him in the video below is asked to call police at 240-773-5100.
