Capital Beltway Tree Trimming Scheduled For This Weekend In MOCO
There will be a ramp closure and detour for the safety of crews working to trim the trees along the Capital Beltway, a news release says.
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — Crews will work to trim trees along the side of a portion of Interstate-495 in Montgomery County between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. this Saturday and Sunday.
The work is planned for the I-495 Outer Loop ramp to Exit 41, Clara Barton Parkway, the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration said in a news release
"For the safety of work crews and the traveling public, a ramp closure and detour will be required while the work is taking place," the release says. "During the ramp closure, motorists will be detoured via Exit 44, VA 193/Georgetown Pike and the Inner Loop of I-495 to access Clara Barton Parkway."

The SHA suggested that drivers in the area allow extra travel time, and said there will be electronic signs, cones and barrels to alert drivers to the work and detours.
