Cyclist Killed In Collision On Old Georgetown Road: Police

Authorities say the cyclist was traveling south on the northbound sidewalk of Old Georgetown Road when they entered the road and crashed.

BETHESDA, MD — A cyclist died after colliding with a Ford F-250 Cargo van in Bethesda Wednesday afternoon, Montgomery County Police said.

Authorities say the cyclist was headed south on the northbound sidewalk on Old Georgetown Road when they left the sidewalk and entered the road, where they collided with the van. Police say they don't know why the cyclist went into the road.

The driver of the Ford stayed at the crash.

Police said the name of the cyclist will be released after their family is notified.
