Driver Crashes Into Bethesda Whole Foods, Injuring Woman: Officials

BETHESDA, MD — A driver crashed their vehicle into a Whole Foods Market in Bethesda on Sunday, injuring a woman before their car stopped in the seafood department, according to reports.

The crash happened at the Whole Foods in the Kenwood Station shopping center at 5269 River Road in Bethesda. The driver and another person inside the car — a black Volvo with temporary Maryland tags — suffered minor injuries.

One person was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service spokesman Pete Piringer said.

Inside the grocery store, oranges and containers of berries scattered were scattered across the floor after the car stopped at the back counter below the seafood sign, NBC4 reported.

The reasons for the driver crashing into the Whole are still under investigation, according to the Montgomery County Police Department. There is no report of charges yet against the driver.
