A Maryland Circuit Court judge died after he was shot in the driveway of his Hagerstown home Thursday night, and a man whose divorce case was being heard by the victim has been named a person of interest in the slaying, the Associated Press reported Friday.

A 37-year-old man has been sentenced after pleading guilty to first-degree assault and possession of a firearm with a prior crime of violence conviction. On May 21, 2022, Christopher Banks' girlfriend at the time called police to report that Banks had strangled her to the point of unconsciousness.
