POTOMAC, MD — The sixth location of Duke’s Grocery will open a pub-style restaurant this fall at Potomac Village Shopping Center in Potomac, according to media reports.

The Duke’s at 10128 River Road will take over a space last occupied by Lock 72 Kitchen & Bar, which closed last fall, WTOP reported. Look for indoor and outdoor dining options at the Potomac Duke’s, plus a coppertop bar.

Duke’s restaurants serve weekend brunches, including a “proper English Brekkie,” with banger sausage and tinned beans, WTOP said. Its lunch and dinner menu includes fish and chips, white truffle mac and cheese, and its Proper Burger, ranked as one of the D.C. area’s best burgers, with two patties, gouda cheese, charred red onion and sweet chili sauce.

The restaurant's founders describe their venues as a "nod to the ubiquitous corner cafés, bodegas and curry joints of the East London neighborhoods of Shoreditch and Hoxton, our culinary inspiration is as diverse as these brilliantly working class parts of the English capital. East London's funky juxtaposition of classic greasy spoons, hole-in-the-wall ethnic spots and ultra sleek avant-garde restaurants has created a food scene that is truly unique."

Other locations are in the Dupont Circle, Foggy Bottom and Navy Yard areas of Washington, D.C., with a Duke's Counter sister location in Woodley Park / National Zoo.

The 32-seat dining room and separate 14-seat bar area will likely offer standard Duke’s Grocery items including sandwiches, salads, seasonal beverages, local beers and wine, MOCO 360 said.

“Our goal everywhere we operate is to be fully engaged with the local community,” Duke’s Grocery Managing Partner Daniel Kramer told MOCO 360. “We are very much looking forward to being a part of Potomac Village.”
