FBI Seeks 'Fake Hair Don't Care Bandit' Who Robs Banks In Wigs

The woman, who wears different style wigs, is accused of robbing a bank in Bethesda, District Heights and three banks in DC.

BETHESDA, MD — The FBI is looking for a woman they've dubbed the "Fake Hair Don't Care Bandit" who allegedly robbed banks while wearing a wig in Maryland and DC.

The unknown suspect is accused of robbing five banks in Northwest DC, District Heights, Md. and Bethesda, Md.

She has frequently worn a wig and sunglasses during the robberies and has also carried various oversized bags, the FBI said.

The FBI believes this woman is responsible for the following bank robberies:

  • May 23, 2016, Bank of America, 4301 49th Street Northwest, Washington, D.C.
  • May 27, 2016, Wells Fargo, 5201 MacArthur Boulevard Northwest, Washington, D.C.
  • May 28, 2016, Wells Fargo, 4965 Elm Street, Bethesda, Maryland
  • June 20, 2017, Capital One, 5714 Connecticut Avenue Northwest, Washington, D.C.
  • August 1, 2017, Bank of America, 7520 Marlboro Pike, District Heights, Maryland

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the capture of the bank robber.

The suspect is described by the FBI as a woman believed to be in her late 20s to early 30s. She is about 5'5" and weighs around 150 pounds.
