BETHESDA, MD — Cities and counties across the country continue to bring back many of the traditional Independence Day activities that were either canceled or modified the last two years.
July 4 is just around the corner, so it's time to find out what Fourth of July fireworks and festivities are going on near you in 2022.
We have all the fireworks shows, parades and festivals happening in and around Bethesda so you can start planning now. This year there will be two Montgomery County-sponsored fireworks shows.

"We are excited to bring back our Independence Day fireworks displays this year after having to put them on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic," said Montgomery County Department of Recreation Director Robin Riley in a news release. This is fantastic event to enjoy music, outdoors and time with family and friends."

July 4 Festivities
What: Mid-County Sparkles
Where: Albert Einstein High School, located at 11135 Newport Road in Kensington
When: July 2 at 6 p.m.
There will be a concert by Joe Falero Band, a Latin Jazz band and Quiet Fire, a soul, rhythm and blues and rock band. "The only parking available on-site at Einstein High School will be for individuals with disabilities," the county said. "Free parking and shuttle service will be provided from Westfield Wheaton, located at 11160 Veirs Mill Road. Parking at Westfield Wheaton will open at 5:30 p.m. Event goers who park at Westfield Wheaton prior to 5:30 p.m. may be subject to towing by the property owner." Shuttle service begins at 5:30 p.m. and fireworks will begin around 9:15 p.m.
What: Independence Day Celebration
Where: Mattie J.T. Stepanek Park in Rockville
When: July 4 from 7 to 10 p.m.
Head over to the park for a concert from Vertigo Red and a 20-minute fireworks display. The City of Rockville said there will be ample and convenient parking.
What: Germantown Glory
Where: South Germantown Recreational Park, located at 18041 Central Park Circle in Germantown (Boyds)
When: July 4 at 7 p.m.
Quiet Fire, a soul, rhythm and blues and rock band that covers hits from the 1960s, 70s and 80s will perform before the fireworks, which are scheduled to begin at 9:15 p.m. There will be free parking on-site.
What: Fireworks on the National Mall in D.C.
Where: Fireworks will be launched from both sides of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool.
When: The 17-minute display will be held on Monday, July 4 starting at 9:09 p.m.
What: 42nd annual Capitol Fourth concert
Where: National Mall
When: The 42nd annual Capitol Fourth concert on PBS will begin at 8 p.m. ET, with country music singer and four-time Grammy-nominee Mickey Guyton serving as host of the event from D.C.Guyton will lead an all-star cast in a patriotic evening of musical performances by top stars from pop, country, R&B, classical and Broadway featuring the National Symphony Orchestra under the direction of premier pops conductor Jack Everly.
Capping off the concert broadcast on PBS will be live coverage of the fireworks display on the National Mall captured by multiple cameras stationed around the city.
