Gun Found In Car During River Road Traffic Stop

Two Virginia men were arrested and charged with a weapons offense, according to Montgomery County police.

Two Virginia men were arrested last month after police discovered a gun in their vehicle during a River Road traffic stop, according to a recent crime summary and a Montgomery County police spokeswoman.

Montgomery County Police pulled over a vehicle in the 7500 block of River Road near the Capital Beltway around 5:15 p.m. March 20, according to the summary.

The car was stopped after a traffic violation, but it wasn't known what the violation was, according to Angela Cruz, a police spokeswoman.

A gun was found during a search of the car, Cruz said.

A 25-year-old man from Purcellville, VA, and a 24-year-old man from Sterling, VA, were arrested and charged with a weapons offense, according to the summary.
