Latest Details On Nor'easter Forecast For MD This Weekend
Rain, urban flooding and wind are likely across Maryland this weekend as a nor'easter forms along the East Coast, meteorologists said.

MARYLAND — A nor'easter is brewing and could bring wet and windy weather, plus urban flooding, to Maryland on Friday and Saturday, according to forecasts.
Meteorologists from Accuweather and the National Weather Service said Maryland residents could see rain and wind begin on Friday. High temperatures will drop to around 60 once the weather system pushes through.
Rainfall will trend upward from the eastern side of the Appalachians to the Mid-Atlantic coast, with the biggest amounts totaling 1 to 2 inches, according to Accuweather. From Baltimore to Washington, D.C. and Norfolk, Virginia, the rain will tend to be more showery in nature.

"Friday will be the wettest period, and sporadic urban flooding is possible. A few thunderstorms are also expected through the mid-Atlantic states, especially Friday afternoon," Accuweather said.
The conditions for the storm will be created as a Midwest weather system reaches the Appalachians and begins to gather moisture from the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic.

"Then, from Friday to Saturday, the storm will transfer its energy to the Atlantic coast, where a new storm will form and then evolve into a nor'easter as it tracks northward toward New England from Saturday to Sunday," Accuweather said.
In Maryland, the NWS said showers are likely to start Friday as the cold front moves through. Windy and chillier conditions are expected for the weekend, the weather service said.
On Saturday, showers are likely to end in Maryland as cooler air surges into the region on gusty northwest winds, according to the Capital Weather Gang.
