Man Dies In Bethesda Motorcycle Crash Monday Morning: Police

A 57-year-old man is dead after a motorcycle crash in Bethesda Monday morning, according to Montgomery County police.

BETHESDA, MD — A 57-year-old man was killed in a motorcycle crash in Bethesda Monday morning.

It happened shortly before 11:30 a.m. at the intersection River and Beech Tree roads.

The motorcyclist — who was later identified as Babak Roboubi, of Bethesda — and the driver of a 2004 Peterbilt tractor-trailer were traveling westbound on River Road at the time of the incident, according to Montgomery County police.

For reasons still under investigation, Roboubi collided with the side of the tractor-trailer and then struck a 2020 Ford Transit van waiting to turn west onto River Road.

Roboubi was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The other drivers were not injured in the collision.
