MD Officials To Hold River Road Corridor Public Meeting In September

The Maryland State Highway Administration is hosting a virtual meeting on its corridor safety study of River Road in the Bethesda area.

BETHESDA, MD— The Maryland State Highway Administration is hosting a virtual public meeting on its corridor safety study of a portion of River Road in the Bethesda area on Sept. 21.

During the meeting, officials will present the findings and recommendations from the corridor safety study, as well as the next steps in the process for improving safety along River Road from Springfield Drive to Little Falls Parkway.

Project team members will be available to answer study-related questions during the virtual meeting. The public is encouraged to leave comments and ask questions before and after the meeting by emailing them to MD190corridor@ mdot.maryland.gov.

Sending questions and comments in advance allows the study team to address them during the meeting, MDSHA said. Attendees will also be able to send written questions and comments through the Q&A feature during the meeting.

The purpose of the study is to improve pedestrian and bicyclist safety along about 4,000 feet of River Road, which includes multiple driveways and nine intersections, MDSHA said.

The virtual meeting will be held on Thursday, Sept. 21 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. The public can attend the meeting by using Microsoft Teams Live or by calling 1-443-409-5228, Conference ID: ID: 302 157 731# on your phone.

Those calling in will be able to hear the presenters and discussion, but will be unable to see the presentation.
