MoCo Police Alert Drivers Of Sobriety Checkpoint On Saturday Night

Montgomery County police will be conducting a sobriety check at an undisclosed location starting at about 10 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 2.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — The Montgomery County Police Department is letting residents know that its officers will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint on Saturday, Sept. 2.

The police department and allied agencies will be conducting the checkpoint as well as focusing on enforcement of impaired driving laws.

The exact location of the checkpoint will not be disclosed in advance, Montgomery County police said.

The sobriety checkpoint will begin at its undisclosed location at about 10 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 2.

The Supreme Court has found that temporary DUI checkpoint stops do not violate the Fourth Amendment rights of drivers, although several states (not Maryland) have statutes that prohibit sobriety checkpoints.
