Overnight Detour Planned Around Ramp From Rockville Pike To Beltway Inner Loop

The ramp from southbound Rockville Pike to the inner loop of the Beltway will be closed Monday night for construction crews to make repairs.

BETHESDA/ROCKVILLE, MD — The ramp from southbound Rockville Pike to the inner loop of the Beltway will be closed Monday night for construction crews to make safety repairs and improve the ramp surface, according to the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration.

As long as weather conditions are favorable, the closure will begin at 8 p.m. on Monday, May 8 and is expected to conclude by 4 a.m. on Tuesday, May 9.

During the work, vehicles will be detoured using southbound Rockville Pike (MD 355), then turning right onto Tuckerman Lane, then left turn onto Old Georgetown Road (MD 187) and back to the inner loop of I-495. The detour length is about 3.5 miles.

The State Highway Administration urges drivers to stay alert and slow down in construction zones. Contractor Concrete General Inc. of Gaithersburg will be performing the work Monday night.
