Post-Football Game Brawl In Bethesda Leads To Arrest Of Teens: Police
Five teenagers accused of assault in Bethesda on Sept. 1 after a high school football game have been arrested. More arrests are expected.

BETHESDA, MD — Five teenagers believed to be involved in an assault outside the Bethesda Metro Station on Sept. 1 after a high school football game have been arrested, according to the Montgomery County Police Department.
A 16-year-old from Bethesda is facing charges as an adult, including armed robbery and second-degree assault, police said Friday. Two other teenagers, aged 15 and 16, have been charged as juveniles with robbery and second-degree assault offenses. Two 15-year-olds face first-degree-assault charges.
The incident took place after a Sept. 1 football game between rivals Bethesda-Chevy Chase and Walter Johnson High School. Three of the teens are accused of assaulting and robbing other teenagers.

A male victim, along with a parent, reported the assault to police the night of the incident, police said.

Montgomery County police said they were able to identify the suspects from a video of the assault that surfaced on social media after the Friday night brawl. Police received help with identifying the teens from Montgomery County Public School leaders.
In response to the brawl, Montgomery County police and school officials said students can expect to see police officers in specific areas of concern, such as areas where students may gather after games. Effective this week, all varsity football games will be limited to 75 percent of stadium capacity to assist with event management.
The Sept. 1 incidents near the Bethesda Metro Station remain an ongoing investigation, and more arrests are expected to be made, police said.
