Silver and Sons BBQ Opening In Bethesda, Will Travel MOCO
Chef Jarrad Silver is a Bethesda native opening a food truck that will be stationed at Captains Market and tour around Montgomery County.

SILVER SPRING, MD — A barbecue truck is slated to open in Bethesda this week, and the chef is planning to travel and do "drop ins" at Montgomery County neighborhoods on Thursdays and Fridays. The truck will be stationed in the Captain Market parking lot Wednesdays and Saturdays from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Chef Jarrad Silver is a Bethesda native said that Silver and Sons BBQ will also do pre-orders, neighborhood deliveries, and private catering.
“Silver and Sons BBQ started during the pandemic when I began cooking for friends and family in my driveway in Kensington,'' said Silver in a news release. “Eventually, I was asked to go to other neighborhoods, so I would set up folding tables and a canopy and serve barbecue to nearby neighborhoods from my trailer smoker.

"I have always wanted to create something for myself, and with the shift in the restaurant industry during the pandemic, I have been able to put a lot more focus on the direction that I want to go moving forward," Silver continued. "I ordered a truck to take the concept to the next level; beyond just online ordering and private events.”
Some of the dishes that will come out of the truck include short rib pastrami, pulled lamb shoulder with garlic-ginger crust, baby back beef ribs and Freebird Amish chicken. There will also be seasonal vegetable dishes — the opening dish being chickpea napa cabbage slaw with cucumber, red onion, roasted peppers, lemon vinaigrette. Desserts will include lemon schmaltz potatoes, brisket chili, and babka bread pudding.
