Another Teen, 15, Charged In Mass Shooting: Police

Authorities have charged a 15-year-old boy in connection with a mass shooting at a Baltimore block party that killed two young people and injured more than two dozen others, according to police. Five people have now been charged in the July 2 shooting where multiple people opened fire at a party in the city's Brooklyn neighborhood, according to authorities.

Profiler Helping With Rachel Morin Case, No Suspect Arrested Yet

Rachel Morin's family is working with a criminal profiler pro bono with three decades of experience in hopes of finding the killer. That criminal profiler, Pat Brown compiled a list of the perpetrator's presumed characteristics, describing him as a psychopath who likely has ties to the area.

First Case Of West Nile Virus Of 2023 Confirmed In MD

The state's first human case of West Nile virus this year has been confirmed on the Eastern Shore, according to the Maryland Department of Health. West Nile virus is transmitted by mosquito bites and affects the nervous system. The Maryland Department of Health on Wednesday said an adult living in the Eastern Shore region has tested positive for West Nile virus.

Mom Pleads Guilty To 1992 Fire That Killed 6 Kids: Reports

A woman awaiting trial on arson and murder charges pleaded guilty this week to killing her six children in a 1992 house fire in Baltimore, according to multiple reports. Tonya Lucas, 59, of Northwest Baltimore, pleaded guilty to one count of arson and six counts of first-degree murder after accepting a plea agreement this week, the Baltimore Banner reported.

A woman has been sentenced after she was convicted by a Harford County jury of first-degree assault, second-degree assault and conspiracy to commit first-degree assault for her involvement in an assault and stabbing. The incident happened Oct. 27, 2022, at an Exxon in Aberdeen.

GoFundMe Created For Teen Fatally Shot Outside High School

A fundraiser has been created to help with the funeral expenses for 16-year-old Jayda Medrano Moore of Greenbelt, who was fatally shot Monday while leaving her school, DuVal High School. Jayda was a junior at the school and a basketball player with a dream of becoming a WNBA player. Her parent, Glendon Reid, set up the GoFundMe.

Body-Worn Camera Footage Released In Fatal Police Pursuit

Body-worn camera footage has been released from the fatal pursuit that happened Aug. 13 in Morningside. Rogelio Sánchez Gomez, 44, of Suitland died two days after the crash. According to the Maryland Office of the Attorney General, around 1:40 p.m. Aug. 13, police received a call about a black BMW car following another vehicle and firing shots.

11 Children, Adult Hospitalized After Bus And Van Crash: MD Police

A school bus transporting children was involved in a crash on Monday. According to the Maryland State Police, the crash between a KinderCare 15 passenger mini-bus and a Honda Accord happened on MD 924 and Bel Air South Parkway. Ten children were taken to the University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air. The driver of the Accord involved in the crash and a 1-year-old child also were taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.

Fire Causes $500K In Damage, Claims Life Of Family Dog: Fire Marshal

A fire claimed the life of a family dog, destroyed their garage and damaged their vehicles. The fire broke out shortly after 11 p.m. Wednesday at a home at 1404 Rigdon Rd. in Jarrettsville. The owner, Christi Peterson, told officials she awoke to "loud pops and bangs."

MS-13 Gang Leader Sentenced To Prison For Murder

The leader of a Maryland gang affiliated with the international criminal organization La Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) was sentenced to spend nearly three decades in prison for his role in numerous crimes, including a 2020 murder in Prince George's County.

Person Dies Of Injuries After Being Hit By Train: Police

An individual hit by a CSX train Tuesday has died of the injuries sustained in the crash. The incident happened near the 400 block of South Stepney Road in Perryman at 6:24 p.m. Tuesday, Harford County volunteer firefighters stated.

18 Burglaries Reported Across Howard Co. Targeted Small Businesses

Burglars hit 12 businesses in Ellicott City and Columbia Saturday morning between 3 and 5 a.m. Most of the victims were small business owners. An additional six burglaries were reported as of early Tuesday morning. Police believe three suspects who were caught on surveillance video at Philly's Best in Columbia belong to the same group that hit each business.

Man Pleads Guilty To Involvement In 2021 U.S. Capitol Breach

A 50-year-old Fallston man has pleaded guilty to a felony offense related to his actions during the breach of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, which disrupted a joint session of the U.S. Congress convened to ascertain and count the electoral votes related to the 2020 presidential election.
