This Weekend: What to Know if You’re Taking Metro
Delays on the Red Line; no track work on Sunday.

Planning on hopping the Red Line this weekend? Here’s a few things to know, according to WMATA:
- From 10 p.m. Friday through closing on Saturday, trains will be single-tracking between Shady Grove and Twinbrook as Metro workers conduct platform repairs.
- All Red Line riders should tack on 20 minutes of travel time to their weekend trips.
- Additional track work is planned on the Blue, Orange and Yellow lines from 10 p.m. Friday through closing Saturday. Check Metro’s press release for more details.
- On Sunday, Metro will open at 5 a.m. — two hours early — and there will be no track work that day due to Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial events.
