This Weekend: What to Know if You’re Taking Metro
Major track work planned at Rhode Island Avenue, Brookland.

Planning on hopping the Red Line this weekend? Here's a few things to know, according to WMATA:
- Rhode Island Avenue and Brookland stations will be closed for major track work from 10 p.m. Friday through closing on Sunday.
- Free shuttle buses will operate between Fort Totten and New York Avenue stations.
- Red Line service will operate on a regular weekend schedule between Shady Grove and New York Avenue, and between Glenmont and Fort Totten.
- The last train from Glenmont will leave 27 minutes earlier than usual — at 2:10 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, and at 11:10 a.m. Sunday.
- Riders traveling through the work zone should tack on an additional 30 minutes to their travel time.
- Additional work is planned on the Blue, Green and Yellow lines. Check Metro’s press release for more information.
