Thunderstorms, Flooding Possible This Week In Maryland: Forecast
Thunderstorms with large hail and flooding are a risk in Maryland, forecasters said, along with rain and fog daily through Thursday.
MARYLAND — Between two and four inches of rain are expected over Maryland this week as part of a developing coastal storm, according to the National Weather Service. Rain is slated to begin falling by 2 p.m. Monday and continue into Thursday.
A few severe thunderstorms with damaging wind gusts and large hail are possible Tuesday and Wednesday, according to a hazardous weather outlook posted by the National Weather Service. Isolated instances of flooding are also possible north of I-70 on Tuesday.
A few thunderstorms could produce gale-force wind gusts this evening, mainly in the waters surrounding southern Maryland.

In fact, the entire Northeast is likely to see persistent chill (with temperatures 5 to 15 degrees below average) and frosty mornings mid- to late-week, AccuWeather said.
"Several days of cold winds will accompany and follow the storm that is likely to be a slow-mover," AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Alex Sosnowski said. "It may seem like winter finally showed up."
The rain is expected to taper off by Friday, which should see partly sunny skies with highs in the low 50s. The weekend forecast appears to be equally sunny with temperatures in the mid-50s.
