Video Shows Woman Punching Car, Holding Up Middle Finger In Bethesda

A NextDoor user said the car of his wife who wears a hijab was attacked by a woman yelling anti-Muslim slurs at a Bethesda intersection.

BETHESDA, MD — A video of a woman banging on the window of a car stopped at a red light in Bethesda and holding up her middle finger at the occupants has gone viral after it was posted on NextDoor last Thursday.

The NextDoor user said that his wife who wears a hijab was attacked by a woman yelling anti-Muslim slurs and profanity as she was stopped at the intersection of Rockledge Drive and Democracy Blvd in Bethesda.

“My wife had our baby in the car who was asleep and woke up with the woman violently banging on the windows and slamming our car hood,” the NextDoor user said. “She dented our car door with her kicks and our hood with slamming her cell phone down.”

His wife was able to use her phone to record “the latter part of the assault,” the husband said.

The NextDoor post had attracted more than 1,000 comments as of Monday afternoon. In the post, the husband noted that police were called and are trying to locate the woman.

“On Thursday, October 26, 2023, at approximately 1:20 p.m., 2nd District officers responded to the area of Rockledge Dr. and Democracy Blvd. for the report of a disturbance. Officers spoke to the complainant and documented the incident,” the Montgomery County Police Department said in a statement to The MoCo Show.

Social media personality @TizzyEnt, who has nearly 400,000 followers on Instagram, made a video commenting on the incident and noting the anti-Muslim slur used by the woman.
