Walter Johnson High School Student Dies
A Walter Johnson High School student died by suicide Saturday, school officials said.

BETHESDA, MD — A high school community in Bethesda is mourning after a 16-year-old student died by suicide Saturday.
Thomas “Tommy” Silva was a junior at Walter Johnson High School, principal Jennifer Baker said. Silva passed on Dec. 2.
“Tommy’s sudden death reminds us all of just how precious life is. Please know that the Silva family is very grateful for everyone’s thoughts and prayers,” Baker wrote in an email to parents. “It is at times like this we are reminded that we are indeed fortunate to have such a caring community.”

Silva's death came about a week after Walt Whitman High School student Jordana "JoJo" Greenberg, 16, died by suicide.
