“Want to Be Friends?” We Don’t Say That Anymore, but Maybe We Should
As we get older our friend group naturally winnows. But there are ways to make new friends, locally.

A group dedicated to women’s friendships, Women’s Connection, is growing in our area and it’s welcoming new members.
At Women’s Connection, you’ll find a network of caring women who understand and support each other, whether it’s sharing advice, lending an ear, or celebrating achievements.
Women’s Connection hosts a variety of social events, from casual lunches and nature walks to more organized outings like theater trips, art exhibitions, book clubs, educational webinars and talks. These events, both in person and online, are a great way to get to know each other and have fun.
Women’s Connection offers resources and discussions focused on later-life transitions, whether it’s retirement, becoming an empty nester, losing someone or dealing with health changes.
Sharing these experiences can be incredibly empowering. Women’s Connection prides itself on being welcoming and inclusive.
Women’s Connection is full of accomplished women who don’t tout their achievements, educated women who apply what they’ve learned in life, and responsible women who look after others and practice their beliefs – such as in sustainability, helping their communities and including everyone.
There are opportunities for making close friends or having a larger group of friends whom you know may not be at every gathering or event but will offer a friendly face next time around.
