Window Washers Rescued From Marriott's Bethesda Headquarters Building

Two workers were rescued Tuesday after their scaffolding got stuck four stories above the ground on the Marriott HQ building in Bethesda.

BETHESDA, MD — Two window washers were rescued Tuesday after their scaffolding got stuck four stories above the ground while cleaning Marriott's international headquarters building in Bethesda, according to officials.

Rescue crews from the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service arrived at the building at 7750 Wisconsin Avenue around 11:30 a.m. A Pepco power line was de-energized as a precaution before rescue workers began their rescue of the two workers, the fire department said.

The window washers’ scaffolding got stuck after a mechanical issue with a cable, officials said.

The Montgomery County fire department was able to rescue the workers at about 12:45 p.m. Crews were able to use a ladder to get the workers to safety. No injuries were reported, officials said.
