Woodmont Grill Closes With No Notice To Customers

After more than 30 years serving customers, Woodmont Grill in Bethesda closed Tuesday citing troubles keeping adequate staff and parking.

BETHESDA, MD — After more than 30 years serving customers, Woodmont Grill in Bethesda closed Tuesday with no advance notice to customers.

The restaurant's website says: "Woodmont Grill is now closed. Thank you for choosing us as a dining destination and allowing us to be a part of your lives with many fond memories of good food and cheer. We hope to have the pleasure of seeing you again at one of our other restaurants."

The restaurant at 7715 Woodmont Ave. was owned by the Hillstone Restaurant group and, according to the Woodmont Grill Instagram account, had been in operation since 1992, Bethesda Today reported.

The owners told Axios D.C. that less parking and staffing challenges led to the restaurant's closure.

"We continually deliberate on where best to place our focus and resources. For Woodmont Grill, some of the considerations have been a diminishment of parking over time and the challenge to keep the restaurant adequately staffed to our service standards. While Woodmont Grill has represented us well with a beautiful building and many valued guests over time, we feel it is best to focus our efforts on our other restaurants."

Hillstone has dozens of restaurants in nine other states, including Florida, California, New York and New Jersey. But, Woodmont Grill was the only Maryland venue the company operated.

No signs notifying customers of the closure were posted at the restaurant when a reporter for Bethesda Today visited Wednesday.
