BETHESDA, MD — For the first time in more than a week, Montgomery County saw no new coronavirus deaths.

The state's most populous jurisdiction reported its first coronavirus-related death on March 21. Daily deaths peaked at 30 on April 27 — according to the county's coronavirus data — and has consistently been in the single digits since June 6.

As of Thursday, the death toll remains at 725. That figure, however, does not include the 38 others whose deaths were linked to the virus, but never confirmed by a lab test. They are considered "probable deaths" — and will not be added to the official total until the cause of death can be confirmed.
