1 Cop Dead, Another Injured In PG County: Report
Police found an officer dead in his police cruiser Friday, and another was involved in a crash.

UPDATE 5:46 p.m.: The officer has been identified as Cpl. Patrick “P.J.” Mann, a Charles County school resource officer assigned to an high school in Waldorf.
UPDATE 10:19 a.m.: WTOP reports that the deceased officer was off duty and in a personal vehicle, not a cruiser as had been originally reported.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD -- Police are investigating after an officer was found dead in his cruiser and another was injured in a separate crash on Friday, according to a report.
WTOP reports that police responded to an officer suffering from injuries inside his cruiser on Beech Lane near Pine Drive at around midnight, which is in the vicinity of Indian Head Highway. The officer was pronounced dead, and the cause of his death is under investigation, but reportedly it does not appear to be due to a homicide or car crash.

Another officer was hurt on Indian Head Highway after his cruiser was hit by another car. That officer is in stable condition.
