One person was killed and two were seriously injured when a vehicle crashed on the inner loop and rolled over onto the outer loop.
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — A Friday morning crash claimed the life of one person and caused two others to be hospitalized after a vehicle rolled over on Interstate 495.
According to the Prince George’s County Fire and EMS Department, first responders were called to the Capital Beltway Outer Loop just before St. Barnabas Road at 5:15 a.m. for a report of a rollover crash involving a single vehicle. They discovered that a Toyota Rav4 was driving along the inner loop then drove into the center media and hit a metal guardrail. The impact from the crash caused the Toyota to roll over onto the outer loop of the Beltway, Maryland State Police stated.
Investigators believe impairment may be a contributing factor in the crash, police officers stated.
