LAUREL, MD -- All parties are safe thanks to the actions of firefighters after a house caught fire in Laurel Thursday morning. Firefighters responded to the 1900 block of Knoll Drive to a report of a one-story single family home with fire and smoke showing, Prince George's County Fire Department spokesman Mark Brady tweeted at 8:44 a.m. Just a few minutes later he reported that the fire, which started in the kitchen, had been extinguished. Also, firefighters released two dogs from the home into the backyard.
