Fort Washington Man Charged In Friend's Fatal Shooting

A Fort Washington man has been charged in the fatal shooting of a Temple Hills man Dec. 19, police report. The two were arguing, police say.

FORT WASHINGTON, MD — A 41-year-old Fort Washington man has been charged in the fatal shooting of 37-year-old Craig Demarco Jackson of Temple Hills.

On Dec. 19 around 12:15 a.m., Prince George's police officers were called to the 6700 block of Botetourt Drive for a report of a shooting. They found Jackson outside with a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital where he died a short time later, according to police.

The preliminary investigation indicated that the suspect, later identified as Jonathan Tyrone Howard, shot the victim during an argument. Jackson and Howard knew each other, police said.

Howard has been arrested and charged with first- and second-degree murder, as well as additional charges. He currently is in custody at the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.
