2 People Struck By Train In Bowie, 1 Dead: Report
An Amtrak train reportedly struck two people in Bowie Monday night, killing one.

BOWIE, MD -- Authorities are investigating after an Amtrak Acela train struck two people in Bowie Monday night, killing one of them, according to a report.
WUSA 9 reports that Acela train 2171 struck two people who were "trespassing" on the tracks. The area is located south of the Bowie State Marc Station.
Prince George's County Police tweeted that the incident happened at 10:20 p.m. at 11th Street and Chestnut Avenue.

"Investigators are working to establish circumstances and identify the individual," police said. "No further information at this time."

It's the second time a pedestrian was struck and killed by a train near the Bowie State University stop in recent weeks. On Feb. 24, a MARC train hit a pedestrian in the 9100 block of Flemming Road.
