Blue Angels Scheduled to Fly Over Annapolis in May
Look for the Blue Angels in the skies over Annapolis in May 2014.

The U.S. Navy Blue Angels have been given the green light to fly over Annapolis next year.
The angels are scheduled for a show in Annapolis in May 2014, which will coincide with the U.S. Naval Academy's commissioning week, according to the team's new 2014 schedule.
The show will be the first time the Pensacola-based demonstration squadron has been cleared for flight over Annapolis since 2010.
“Community outreach is key to connecting Americans to the military,” said Blue Angels Commanding Officer and Flight Leader, Cmdr. Thomas Frosch. “Our performances provide a unique opportunity to inspire millions to connect with and support our service members, and we are looking forward to an exciting 2014 season.”
Budget cuts kept the angels from the skies in April, canceling the rest of their season. The team regularly flies over Annapolis during the U.S. Naval Academy's commissioning week. And in 2011, the Blue Angels' Annapolis performance was canceled due to a safety stand-down period imposed on the team.
