Bowie Man Indicted in Sex Abuse Case
Douglas Halloran, 53, is facing charges for the reported abuse of a 6-year-old girl from Bowie.

A local man was indicted by a grand jury this week for allegedly sexually abusing his 6-year-old neighbor, according to court documents.
Douglas Halloran, 53, of Bowie, has been indicted on two counts of third degree sex offenses and two counts of fourth degree sex offenses.
Halloran was arrested by Bowie police on June 15 after the 6-year-old victim's mother called police and reported the alleged abuse. According to the police report, the victim told her mother about some inappropriate touching that happened while she was in Halloran's care.
He was arrested without incident and released on a $30,000 bond the following day.

A fourth degree sex offense is defined as unlawful touching. The maximum sentence for this offense is one year in jail, a $1,000 fine, or both.
Halloran's first court hearing is set for July 26, according to court records.
