Bowie's Jayden Cited As Star Student: Here’s Why

BOWIE, MD — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.

This submission comes from Jacqueline Woody who nominated Jayden of Bowie. Below is what she wrote in her nomination.

How do you know the star local student?

We worship and serve together in ministry at our local church

Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?

Jayden is committed to serving others, whether in his community as a volunteer for food distribution, as a Junior member of the Greater Mount Nebo AME Church Trustee Board, and very significantly having achieved the rank of an accomplished Eagle Scout (Boy Scouts of America). He is a champion serving the community completing over 100 community service hours thus far. Jayden is a shining Advanced Placement, Honors student who is also excelling in the Dual Enrollment parallel program at Prince George's Community College.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?

As a caring champion serving the community, Jayden is always respectful, with a willingness to also eagerly assist and encourage his peers, his family and others who may be in need.
