Stabbing Prompts Brief Lockdown At High School In Prince George's Co.
Parkdale High School went into lockdown Thursday morning due to a reported stabbing, school officials said. It has since been lifted.
RIVERDALE PARK, MD — A lockdown was put in place at Parkdale High School around 9:20 a.m. Thursday following a stabbing. It was lifted around 40 minutes later.
The suspect has been identified and taken into custody, the school district said.
The student who was stabbed was taken to a local hospital to be evaluated. The student's injuries weren't considered life-threatening, officials noted.

"All students and staff are safe, accounted for and remaining in their classrooms while police secure the building," school officials said. "At no point was there an ongoing threat to students or staff, and normal operations were restored once it was determined the campus was secure."
