Chimney Fire Causes $100K In Damages In Prince George's County
A damaged chimney started a fire that caused $100,000 of damage at a Lanham home Monday night, officials said.

LANHAM, MD — A damaged chimney started a fire that caused $100,000 of damage at a Lanham home Monday night, Prince George's County Fire/EMS officials said.
Firefighters responded to the report of a fire in the 9200 block of McHenry Ln. and saw fire coming through the roof of the two-story single-family home.
The family—five adults and two children—made it out of the home safely, officials said. No residents or firefighters were injured.

Chief Spokesperson Mark Brady said a damaged chimney allowed extension to the attic area of the house, eventually burning through the roof.
