Elderly Woman Dies In PG County Crash: Police

An 88-year-old woman died after an accident in College Park over the weekend, police say.

COLLEGE PARK, MD -- An 88-year-old woman has died after being involved in a car crash in College Park over the weekend.

Police were called to the area of Baltimore Avenue and Edgewood Park at around 6:40 a.m. on Jan. 26 to a report of a collision involving three vehicles, according to a report from the Prince George's County Police Department.

Police founded 88-year-old Duangduen Schulick of Kensington unresponsive in her car. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

"The preliminary investigation reveals the victim was traveling southbound on Baltimore Avenue, when for reasons which remain under investigation, her car rear-ended a Mazda that stopped at a red traffic light," the report states. "After that initial impact, the victim’s car then struck a Ford pickup truck head on."

The two other drivers were not hurt, and an investigation is ongoing, police say.
