Felon Found With Ammo, Gun Parts Sentenced To Prison
A convicted felon banned from possessing guns and ammo who was found with gun parts, ammo and an AR style receiver has been sentenced.
OXON HILL, MD — An Oxon Hill man has been sentenced to federal prison after being a convicted felon found with gun parts and ammunition.
According to the evidence presented at trial, on Aug. 11, 2023, ATF agents, with the assistance of Prince George's County police officers, executed a court-ordered search-and-seizure warrant at the home of Lester Massey, Jr., 42. During the search, law enforcement found 243 live rounds of ammunition throughout the apartment. Law enforcement also found assorted gun parts — including an AR style receiver — a slide, spring, barrel, additional magazines and gun tools, according to prosecutors.
Massey had been convicted previously of two state crimes punishable by more than two years imprisonment and was aware that his criminal history prohibited him from possessing firearms and ammunition, prosecutors said.
