Fire Damages Townhouse Garage In Melwood

An end-of-the-row townhouse in Melwood was damaged after a fire broke out in the garage. Three adults and a child have been displaced.

MELWOOD, MD — A fire broke out Tuesday late morning at a townhome in Melwood, officials reported.

The fire happened around 10:37 a.m. Dec. 16 in the 9700 block of Woodward Circle. Firefighters with the Prince George's Fire Department reported an end-of-the-row townhome with flames in the garage. Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the property so it didn't spread to adjacent units, the department stated.

No injuries were reported either, but three adults and one child have been displaced, the Prince George's Fire Department reported. The fire is being investigated.
