Horse Shows, Rodeo Return To Prince George's Equestrian Center And Show Arena
Popular local and international horse shows, plus a rodeo, are returning to the Prince George's Equestrian Center and Show Place Arena.
UPPER MARLBORO, MD — Next week, the equestrian season kicks off at the Prince George’s Equestrian Center and Show Place Arena in Upper Marlboro with a local favorite.
Colonial Classic Horse Show – With prestigious competition, stunning horses and classic charm, the Colonial Classic Horse Show is a local favorite in the region. It starts Friday, Aug. 29, and is free for spectators.
Maryland Horse and Pony Show – Set for Thursday, Sept.11, this show features the state's finest horses and ponies. The show offers free admission.

Bill Pickett Invitational Rodeo – Tune into one of the nation's largest African-American rodeos on Friday, Sept. 19 The DMV marks the championship finals of this touring rodeo. Tickets are required and organizers say they sell out fast.
Capital Challenge Horse Show – A highlight of the season, this elite competition runs from Wednesday, Sept. 24, through Sunday, Sept. 28, and features top-tier equitation finals and ends with premier hunter/jumper championships through Sunday, Oct/ 5.

Washington International Horse Show (WIHS) – A world class event returns to Upper Marlboro from Monday, Oct. 2, through Sunday, Oct. 26, and showcases international jumping, hunters, exciting finals and family-friendly festivities throughout the week.
